reds a supposed to hit hard. theyre big, 2 handed swords. But like all weapons, they just need to be broken in.

Maybe he meant they hit a bit harder for reasonably red hits? Agreed, breaking in weapons is a must.
I also found a few interesting weapon shops, while on the subject...
Axe and Arrow does Arrow heads, blue swords, and axes (from what they had in stock and might do custom orders if I remember) and Best Dag Weapons has had some stuff posted on their facebook (do it yourself kits, axes, glaives, two handed swords, spears, big selection) but their main site is down.
Post links later.
And Elik, do you know much about Edhellen's fiberglass poles? They sell 6 ft. poles for $6-12 bucks, which is a steal compared to Bandshoppe, but I know bandshoppe is very awesome and reliable.

Best Dag Weapons - last I knew went out of business. Axe and Arrow - sword cores are pvc, if you hit hard they will break Edhellen - some blues on occasion will have tips not pass the template test at weapons check.
I've owned stuff from all three. IMHO you need to take the time to learn to build your own stuff becouse in the long run it will be cheaper.
